      Challenges:
The main challenges are availability of sufficient funds to meet running costs. Other challenges are coping with changes and advances in technology, economy and government policies.
Most of practical equipment/apparatus are not available and the few that are present are outdated for   example   laboratories for Soil science and Crop Science are not well operating due to lack of some of laboratory apparatus, chemicals, and reagents etc. Some textbooks and manuals are also lacking and those present are of old editions. Unavailability of training facilities makes it difficult to assess some practical skills.

      Conclusion

MATIU in consultation with Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Cooperatives will continue efforts to make sure there is adequate supply of required human and physical resources to provide quality training and other related services provided by the institute.
